Christian wins the 2013 BBC Music Magazine Opera Award.

Christian's recording of Handel's music for Alceste  with his Early Opera Company won the opera category at this year's BBC Music Magazine Awards. Sadly Christian was unable to attend, but the prize was collected by the tenor soloist on the disc, Benjamin Hulett.  Here's a video of the acceptance speech and a beamed in Christian! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtWaPXL57U8

Christian's 2013 season kicks of in style with a return to the wonderful Frankfurt Opera to conduct Vincent Boussard's new production of Gluck's Ezio. Ezio is one of Gluck's 'pre -reform' operas, but already shows his amazingly fluid treatment of the Opera Seria form. 2011-2012 season gets underway

Christian’s season has just kicked off with a return to ENO to conduct their first ever Rameau Opera, Castor and Pollux. Its directed by Barrie Kosky, one of the most exciting and innovative directors around, and is a co-production with the Komische Oper in Berlin, where he will conduct it in a few seasons time. Flavio nominated for a Gramophone Award

Christian’s recording of Handel’s Flavio with his Early Opera Company has been chosen as a finalist in for the 2011 Gramophone Awards. It’s one of the three discs in the baroque vocal category. The ceremony is on October 6th at London’s Dorchester Hotel.
